Food experiences in Dublin

Four hosts run food experiences that reach Dublin today, with prices from €45 to €98 a person. They are based in Dublin 7 and 8 and Malahide, and the cuisines on their listings include Italian, Irish, Japanese, French, Thai, Mexican and Mediterranean. Each listing has a set menu and a set price per person.

The current experiences are a 12-course sushi omakase night at €98, cooked live in front of guests, and a five-course food and drink pairing at €95 where every dish is matched with something unexpected. There is a private five-course cocktail tasting built around the Paper Plane at €45, a tapas and cocktail menu for a party at €55 with a personal bartender and chef, and a hands-on pizza workshop in Malahide at €80 covering dough, fermentation and baking.

Group sizes range from 1 to 40, and the listing shows the minimum and maximum number of guests. Each host sets a travel radius, 25 km for most and 100 km for two, so message the host to agree where the evening happens.

These suit a birthday, an anniversary, a date night, a small team evening or a hen party where you want more than a table at a restaurant. Prices cover the food and the host's time, and the listing says what else is included. If you want the menu adjusted for allergies or a celebration, message the host before you book. Enquiring is free and needs no card, and guest numbers can be changed up to 24 hours before.

The price is per person, so the cost of an evening is the price times the number of guests. Six people at the €95 pairing come to €570, and four at the €98 omakase come to €392.
